Sheldon is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background of over 10 years of inpatient bedside nursing on a medical-surgical unit in Rochester, MN. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Masters of Science in Nursing from Graceland University in Independence, Missouri. He has a keen interest in the field of Lifestyle Medicine and how changing dietary practices in particular can halt or even reverse chronic diseases, such as Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or coronary artery disease. He also has an interest in mental health and how blending Western medicine with holistic practices can treat anxiety and depression. He has followed plant-based/vegetarian diet for over 20 years.
Outside of work, Sheldon loves to spend time with his wife, preschool daughter, and infant son. His son spent 5 weeks in the NICU due to being premature, but he is healthy and doing well. Sheldon enjoys game nights with family and friends, traveling, gardening, sports, Bible studies, and church activities.
