Jeffrey Skogen, MD

Dr. Jeffrey Skogen is a fellowship-trained nephrologist with over 20 years of experience in internal medicine and kidney care.

He brings a patient-centered approach that integrates traditional evidence-based medicine with holistic and integrative strategies.

A Minnesota native who grew up in the Mille Lacs area, Dr. Skogen earned his Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School (1996–2000), completed Internal Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center (2000–2003), and finished a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Minnesota (2003–2005). He holds active licensure in Minnesota and has maintained a strong record of high-quality clinical care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Skogen has served in leadership roles at VA Medical Centers in Fargo and St. Cloud, where he developed and expanded kidney biopsy, transplant coordination, and CKD education programs. He also acted as Medical

Director for dialysis services and contributed as an Associate Professor. In addition to his VA work, he has provided part-time nephrology and internal medicine care at Mille Lacs Health System since 2015. His expertise includes the comprehensive management of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and complex internal medicine conditions, with a focus on value-based, individualized care that addresses the whole patient.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Skogen is a devoted husband and father of seven, deeply rooted in his faith and rural Minnesota community. He values building trusting relationships with patients and supporting holistic health in mind, body, and spirit.
