Absolutely! We specialize in providing everything a traditional medical clinic might, with the added personal touch of natural/integrative care, convenient hours, and most importantly – a judgment-free environment. You’re safe here. We also offer evening and weekend appointments for your family, recognizing that any service that improves access and decreases the stress of appointments helps benefit those who need us.
A wellness exam is typically an annual appointment intended to prevent illness and detect health concerns early. This typically includes a physical exam, labs, and any needed medication refills or requested immunizations along with counseling to optimize your health through a nourishing diet and healthy lifestyle. At times, we have time to discuss one or two minor health concerns. However, we ask that you schedule a separate visit to discuss any major concerns.
That is a great question! It is totally up to you as a family and what your needs may be. BUT, if you are in need of any refills of medications, lab only strep testing, pink eye medication without being seen, forms (daycare/sports), referrals, therapy orders or anything that would need a provider’s signature, a wellness visit is required to have taken place within the past year.
While we appreciate technology, rashes can be super tough to evaluate even in person. We require all patient’s with rashes/bumps to have a visit.
While we do our best to guide you over the phone, please note that if you are concerned enough to call and ask if your child needs be seen, it might just be time to bring them in or hop on a telehealth visit with one of our providers so that they may assess your child and give you their trained medical advice.
Adults may want to fast for at least 12 hours prior to a wellness visit. Updated guidelines do not require fasting for a cholesterol level; however, we are able to obtain more accurate results if you are fasting, especially if we want to assess your blood glucose level. Additionally, some labs are more accurate when tested first thing in the morning, such as a thyroid hormone, sex hormones, and cortisol. If you are not able to schedule a visit in the morning or while fasting, you can complete your visit anytime and return to the clinic within the week for your labs.
Please call your pharmacy first (and talk to the pharmacy, not the auto refill operator) and request that they fax us a refill request.
Although we do our best to be in-network with most insurance plans, we recommend that you contact your insurance company to check on your specific plan’s benefits. While we are contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health, Medica, Medicaid, UCare, Medicare, and many others, it is very important you check to ensure your specific plan would include New Kingdom as In-Network.
Every visit is as unique as the patient we are seeing. Based on co-pays, deductibles, labs performed, vaccines, and self pay options, it’s impossible to give an accurate estimate prior to service.
We do not do Medicare Annual Wellness visits so we would ask that you choose a different clinic as your primary clinic. However, we are contracted with Medicare and would be happy to be part of your care team.
